An error message when trying to import data can have several causes.
Go through the following list step by step to narrow down the cause and resolve the error message.
1. Check file format
Make sure the data to be imported is saved in a CSV file.
2. Check properties and data types
In the Zendesk Admin Center, set all required properties with the correct data types (e.g., Date = Integer, Name = String, etc.).
Ensure that all properties and data types in Zendesk match the properties and data types in your CSV file.
3. Check permissions
If an agent from your Zendesk workspace is trying to import data, make sure they have all the necessary permissions.
4. Import the file in smaller parts
If the error message persists, try importing the table in smaller parts instead of all at once. The file or table might be too large.
Also, replace special characters, umlauts, and accents (e.g., á=a, ä=ae, ß=ss, etc.)
Use a test file
Here you will find a Google Sheets table that you can use as a test for the import.
Simply download the table as a CSV file and create the object shown in the screenshot above. You can also adjust the table as needed to import your own data this way.
Make sure to create the object in Zendesk with the corresponding properties as described above.
