What is the Guide Importer App?
The Leafworks Guide Importer app allows you to import and export Zendesk Guide articles, sections, and categories in Excel format. It’s designed to help you update, restructure, or migrate your Help Center content quickly and efficiently—whether you're expanding your support resources or moving content between Zendesk instances.
What does the app do?
With the Guide Importer, you can:
Import or export articles, sections, and categories using Excel files
Customize article visibility by selecting languages and user groups (e.g. logged-in users, agents, administrators)
Bulk update content by changing single words or sections across multiple articles at once
Assign articles to brands, helping manage content across multi-brand setups
Edit existing articles in bulk, not just create new ones
Control structure in Excel by choosing which columns represent articles, sections, or categories
This makes the app ideal for scaling, updating, or centralizing Help Center content without tedious manual edits.
Where is the app used?
You’ll find the Guide Importer in the Zendesk Sidebar, accessible from your Zendesk Support interface.
How to set up the app?
Install the app via the Zendesk Marketplace
Open the app from the sidebar
Export your existing Help Center content or import new Excel files to begin managing your articles
