In several Eastern European markets, customers often pay for their orders in cash directly to the delivery service. As a result, no IBAN data is available when refunds are required.
Our customer needed a solution to efficiently and accurately collect this missing banking information – without requiring manual input from support agents.
The IBAN Form – Core of the Solution
The custom-built IBAN form became the central tool to automate the refund process:
Personalized links: Each email generates a unique link that stores the payment and invoice ID, as well as other relevant data, invisibly in the form.
User-friendly interface: Customers only see the fields Name and IBAN. Everything else remains hidden.
Secure data capture: With MOD-97 validation in place, only correctly formatted IBANs are accepted.
Once submitted, the form triggers a webhook that sends the data to the payment provider. The payout is processed automatically, and the corresponding Zendesk ticket closes without any manual intervention.
