How can Outlook emails be imported into Zendesk?
If you want to make emails from Outlook or Exchange available in Zendesk, the data usually needs to be exported first. Based on this export, the content can then be imported into Zendesk using a migration script.
Data source
The data from Outlook or Exchange first needs to be exported. Depending on your setup, the export can be carried out using separate tools or PowerShell.
Typical export formats include:
- MSG files
- EML files
Migration scripts
For the actual migration to Zendesk, custom scripts can be created, for example using Python.
The script reads the data from the exported files and creates requests or tickets in Zendesk. Based on the folder information, it can also be defined whether tickets should be imported as open or closed.
